Using LOWER, UPPER & PROPER
Many programs export data to Excel and on some occasions you find that you need to change the case of the imported text. The Excel LOWER, UPPER and PROPER functions will all do this for you. |
The functions all take the same format: =functionname(cell reference) For example, let's say you have the word "HAPPY" in cell A1 |
The formula: =LOWER(A1) will produce "happy" =PROPER(A1) will produce "Happy" The UPPER function is the opposite of the LOWER function and changes the text into uppercase. If you have a time saving shortcut or a tip you would like to appear on this page please send it to us. |
