Using Visio's templates it is easy to quickly put together professional looking flowcharts and diagrams. The shapes in a flowchart are normally joined with special connectors . Once shapes are joined with connectors you can move the shapes and the connectors adjust, but stay connected. Below are listed a few shortcuts and tips for quickly connecting shapes. |

Connecting objects as you add them to the drawing page
|
If you are adding shapes to the page in the order you want them connected switch the Connector Tool on (on the Standard Toolbar) before you drag the shapes onto the drawing page. With the connector tool on, the shapes will be connected as you add drag the shapes onto the page. When you have finished adding shapes switch the Pointer tool on and this switches the Connector tool off!! |

Connecting objects all at once
|
For this to work you need to draw the shapes in the order you want them connected. When you have finished adding your shapes to the page, draw a selection rectangle around the shapes and then choose Connect Shapes from the Shapes menu. |
