Taking pictures of your worksheets with the Camera. This year starts with a great way of linking data within Excel using the Camera. |

Overview
There are various ways of linking information from one worksheet or book to another in Excel. Using Copy and Paste Special is a popular option, but when the Link option is selected the formatting is lost in the pasted data. You can now use the Camera to copy any Excel data and paste it into the same worksheet, another worksheet or another workbook and retain all formatting and layout settings. This really is a great new feature. |

Setting it up
First, the camera icon needs to be added to your toolbars. From the Tools menu choose customise and then choose the Commands tab, select the Tools category and scroll down until you see the Camera. Now, drag the camera icon onto any toolbar and close the dialog box.. |

Using the Camera
Highlight the cells you wish to take a picture of and then click the camera button. The mouse changes to a cross hair (plus sign). Now move to the worksheet or workbook where you want to paste in the picture and click in the cell where you want the upper left corner of the picture to be and it will appear on the screen. You can move it and size it as you would any other picture. When you have used the camera to copy a picture of cells the link has a very useful characteristic, just double click the resulting picture and the source file opens automatically!
