Using the Organizer

The Organizer is an unusual feature, when you load it for the first time take a few seconds to study it.

The Organizer dialog box has two sides and each side has a Close button. When you first load it you will normally see the current document listed on one side and the Normal.dot template on the other side. Look above the Close button at the 'available in' list box to see what you have open in each side.

Copying Template Items

To copy items between templates you open the relevant templates in the Organizer. You often find that you are copying items from the Normal.dot template to another specific template, perhaps a letter or memo template.

To do this, make sure the Normal.dot template is open in one side of the Organizer, click the Close button in the other side of the Organizer and it will change to an Open button. Click this button to Open the template you want to copy the objects into.

When you have both templates open use the tabs at the top of the dialog box to change to the items you want to copy. Find the items and then click the copy button to copy them between the templates. When you click the Close button to close the templates you will be asked if you want to save changes. Choose Yes to save the changes and the items will be successfully copied between the templates.
