Outlook -

I have received e-mail from another company. How can I easily add their e-mail address to my Contacts folder?

It is quick and easy to add an address to Contacts if you have already received an e-mail from the person you wish to add.

To do this: Double click to open the e-mail into its own window. At the top you should see "From:" and then the senders name and e-mail address. Place the mouse on the senders name and e-mail address and press the right mouse button. A quick menu pops up, and you should see "Add to Contacts". Choose this option and Outlook opens a new Contact window with the senders name and e-mail address already completed.

Fill in any other contact fields such as "File As", "Address" and "Phone Number" and then click the Save and Close button.

How do I send e-mail to my new contact?

There are many ways of doing this, a simple way is to create the e-mail as normal, click the "To" button within the e-mail and change the Address Book from "Global Address List" to "Contacts". You will then see your new contact. A quicker way is to drag your new Contact from the "Contacts" folder to the "Inbox" folder and Outlook will create a new message for you.

Windows Explorer -

I have a folder containing 50 files and I wish to copy half of the files to a new folder. How can I do this without copying the files one at a time?

To select/highlight random files in a list: click to select the first file and then hold down the Ctrl key while you click to select the others. Ctrl + Click = AND. Make sure you don't drag as you select the files.

To select a continuous block of files: click to select the first file place the mouse pointer over the last file and hold down the SHIFT key while you click to select it. SHIFT + Click = Through too.
