Outlook 2003 - Multiple Personal Calendars - September 2005

Hints and Tips Index

In Outlook 2003 you can now easily have personal Multiple Calendars and see them side-by-side on the screen. Perhaps you want to keep your business and personal appointments separate - you don't want the children's football matches etc., cluttering up your business calendar, but you need to be aware of them when you are scheduling your business appointments.
You can now keep your business and personal calendar side-by-side and look at them both simultaneously.

Creating a New Calendar

To create multiple personal calendars, first make a new Calendar. To make a new Calendar:
1. Click the Calendar button on the Navigation Pane and under My Calendars, right-click the area next to Calendar and click New Folder.
2. In the Name box, type the name you want for your new Calendar.
3. Verify that Calendar Items is selected in the Folder Contains box and that Calendar is selected under Select where to place the folder.
4. Click OK.
Note, that because subfolders are not shared as part of your main calendar, this folder and its appointments will not be accessible to people who are sharing your calendar.

Show the new calendar next to your main calendar

To see the new Calendar next to your main Calendar, tick the box that appears next to the new Calendar name in the Navigation Pane.

Your new Calendar will now appear next to your main Calendar and they will be different colours so that you can easily differentiate between them.
